The 2027 edition of AT EXPO AFRICA is hosted by the Government of Senegal, in partnership with OADCPH and ATscale.
Mobilisation of assistive technology (AT) users and organizations of persons with disabilities (OPDs) representatives as organizers and participants
Mobilisation of approximately 1,000 key stakeholders from at least 25 African and international countries
Commitment for at least 10 new strategic partnerships or collaboration agreements
Commitment of at least 10 policymakers to allocate specific budgets to assistive technology
Creation of a sustainable dynamic for sharing information, knowledge, and best practices continentally
Commitment of at least 5 major suppliers to develop a production transfer or assembly line directly on the African continent
The final report will establish a follow up mechanism on recommendations and commitments, such as an African Observatory for Assistive Technology involving regional institutions and civil society, including AT users and OPDs.
ATscale, through its Geneva Secretariat, will support this mechanism and provide an update on achievements at the opening of AT EXPO AFRICA 2029.
