• Passport holders from over 60 countries—including the EU, UK, US, and ECOWAS member states—do not require a visa for stays of up to 90 days. All other nationalities can apply for an e-Visa online, or secure one via their local embassy before traveling.

• For up-to-date medical advisories, vaccine data, and country-specific guidance, please refer to the official CDC Travelers' Health portal or the WHO International Travel and Health website.

• It is strongly recommended that you drink bottled water when you are in Senegal

• The currency of Senegal is the CFA; the notes come in denominations of 1000, 2000, 5000 and 10,000. Coins are available in other amounts going up to 500 CFA. 1 Euro is approximately 655 CFA at the present time of writing. If you are bringing hard currency, euros are more widely accepted than dollars or pounds sterling and the exchange rate is better. If you want to withdraw money from cash machines, there are facilities for this throughout Dakar, make sure you inform your bank before you travel so that you can withdraw funds and they do not block your card!
